Mini umbrella: what to look at

The folded length, not the weight

It’s the length that decides whether it fits in your bag. 18 cm fits in a coat pocket or a small clutch; 25 cm needs a backpack or a tote.

The open diameter

A mini stays a mini: expect 90 to 100 cm, enough to cover one person and their bag. To walk two abreast, you need a large umbrella.

Manual or automatic

The automatic mechanism adds weight and a few centimetres. The smallest models open by hand: that’s the price of discretion.

The right habit
