Dome umbrella
The dome shape comes down lower than the others: the canopy wraps around your head and shoulders, and sideways rain no longer gets through.

Why a dome shape
A classic umbrella is almost flat: it protects well when rain falls straight down, much less when the wind drives it in at an angle. The dome, on the other hand, reaches down to the shoulders and shields the sides.
Who it’s for
For walking in town, for glasses wearers whose lenses catch the rain, and for children, who can see ahead when the canopy is transparent.
What you have to accept
A dome umbrella covers less ground than a large one and doesn’t always fold. It’s an umbrella for one person.
